This is a sequel to the article titled HOW GOD MEETS NEEDS AS THE PRESENT HELP.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” Psalm 46:1.
We have so many instances in the Bible and this present time of how God helps His children and delivers them from shame. They are enough to ignite hope.
You will agree with me that human needs are not limited to material or financial things but can be spiritual, marital or anything you can name depending on the circumstance but the assurance is that God is more than able to meet all.
One thing He said in Isaiah 49:23 usually puts my mind at rest “for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me”.
What normally proofs difficult is the patience to wait!
Waiting can be difficulty, painful and tiring but the owner of times and seasons is saying WAIT.
For you to key into his ever available supply is the ability to totally rest on Him. You can’t afford to give in to doubt and faithlessness.
The beautiful thing about God is that you can’t over ask but can only under ask. Keep asking Him for what you need until the answer is delivered.
To further encourage ourselves on the ever potent and saving arm of God, I reached out to people asking for their testimonies of how God stepped in at the time of their needs and they have these to say:
Mrs. Gloria John
Early this year, I needed cash to seal a particular business deal and everywhere I turned to, I got a capital NO.
I knew God wanted me to trust Him, but that timing.
So I started asking every Tom, Dick and Harry.
And I kept getting No.
In fact, one of the persons I asked for help told me God said I should trust Him.
After crying and running from pillar to post, I rested and asked God to sort it.
And with ease He did it.
Many times, we want things in our own time and way, but God knows what is best and He will always come through for His own.
God has come through for me on many occasions.
The one ringing in my head now is how He provided help for my business when I needed it most.
There was a time I could have lost money and my reputation was at stake too but He showed up and proved Himself to be God!
Another one which is so personal to me happened about two years ago.
During this incident, I discovered a new name of God – the defender of the defenseless! I can’t forget that experience in a hurry.
God always come through, He’s never late. He never disappoints those who trust Him, never!
The things we receive from God everyday are enormous.
I remember an incident that happened to me when I was on my second job after school in Abeokuta, a city in Southwest Nigeria.
My job required I travel to Sagamu (a neighboring town) every weekday to monitor operations.
On this particular day, I finished so late. Unfortunately, the highway connecting the two towns of where I live and work was dangerous especially at night.
Because I worked late into the night, I missed all the buses going to Abeokuta. I was alone and fear set in; I started to pray.
At some minutes past 9 pm, nothing was happening so I intensified my prayers.
Each time I remember that day, I laugh.
It was not long I saw a car approaching and the driver asked me, what I was doing there at that time. It was an angel. I know because since then I have been enjoying the ministry of angels.
To God be the glory!
Mrs. Deborah Aigbogun
I could remember the year my school program was almost scrapped while I was already in my penultimate year.
Our program was running in Teaching Hospitals and likewise in the Universities with the same qualification to be awarded,
This was causing problems for graduating students of Teaching Hospital at the point of seeking for employment. Employers got confused with the two different routes but same qualification being presented; it was a serious issue.
To normalize the situation, Teaching Hospital program needed to be scrapped and everybody became worried about what was going to be the fate of the current students of the program.
My colleagues and I waited on the Lord and He answered. We were absorbed into various universities to complete our course of study.
It may sound funny but it’s true.
I recall there was a time I had a need for new clothes (2 pairs of Jean precisely) but I was not financially buoyant to get any at that time.
I didn’t go to God in prayer about it because I felt God will not attend to my material needs but in my heart, I somehow desired a miracle.
And I visited home to see my family members, then one of my friends saw me; he took me to his house, opened his wardrobe and brought out 2 pairs of denim. In his word “I saw the Jeans and felt you will need them”
He bought Jeans and didn’t think it was shirt I would be in need of. That day I was stunned!
Then I began to ruminate about how God saw my need, heard my yearning and provided through someone I least expected of. Then I blamed myself for not yearning for shirts too because that’s how He would have provided.
In whatever area you need help, call on the present help.
You can count on God for help!
