The last day of each year tells us that in few hours we would be entering another new year while the beginning of some months welcomes us to new seasons. The signs are usually evident to all and sort of aid preparation for the season coming in.
You hear winter is near, it’s spring, it’s the rainy season.
When a pregnant woman is close to delivery, she knows the time of relief is near and it’s just a matter of days. So she patiently bears whatever pain that comes at the time because the day of rejoicing is close by.
Times and Seasons; All Working Out For Your Good.
“Come for dinner!” I said to my four-year-old and she replied “Mum, it’s still afternoon”. I glanced at the wall clock and it was 9:00 pm; yet bright enough to go for 3:00 pm!
To think few days back we would need to turn on the light as early as 4:00 pm, and now we do not need the bulbs at 9:00 pm, is the work of God not amazing!
Here we are welcoming summer in all its glory.
Seeing the seasons change quietly is instructive for us as humans; our very existence is in seasons.
The experiences we encounter as we journey in life are not permanent. Just like seasons, they fade and change with each experience ushering us into the next.
Life circumstances are usually of a rolling nature; here today, gone tomorrow.
I am confident that God does not bring upon us more than we can bear. This is to say you are stronger than you think; you know why? His grace is always sufficient and His strength is made known when you are weak (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Situations will always reveal your abilities. Something you are thinking is difficult and beyond you often times comes easy when it confronted with it.
From Winter to Spring, Summer to Fall; each comes with distinct beauty and challenges.
For every season that comes upon us, we need to discover the right ‘food’, ’dress’, ’sport’ and every necessity that is needed for such a time and season. We need to dress, eat and shop for each season.
One sure fact is that, no season lasts beyond the designated time. God has so programmed all things on earth to work out for the good of every created thing.
It is however pertinent that each individual understands the times and seasons he/she is faced with per time while maintaining confidence in the God that changes the times and the seasons. (Daniel 2:21a).
The knowledge helps to:
- Build the right attitude.
- Guide against sinning through grumblings and complaints during difficult seasons.
- Caution against lasciviousness during the time of plenty.
- Know what to do. To plant or harvest, a time to sit and eat or Time to simply refrain from food and fast.
Whatever season of life you are in now; it does not matter for how long you have been there and how long more you’ll be there; be positive and know that it will pass.
Tough situations don’t last but resilient and purpose driven people do last.
Take the best of the season as possibly as you can and countdown to the next season with gratitude.
“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven”. Ecclesiastes 3:1
