What have you set out to do this week, month and year? Do it Well…
I’m tempted to start my write-up this morning with a song of thanksgiving; I’ve done it in my mind, so no need to bother you. However, you can choose to sing praises to God wherever you are. Why? What you think you don’t have, where you think you ought to be but have not gotten there; somebody somewhere is praying to be like you. Some are even jealous of you right now (this life is not balanced truly). Be Grateful!
The word for today is from Ecclesiastes chapter 9 verse 10
“WHATEVER YOUR HAND FINDS TO DO, DO IT WITH ALL THY MIGHT”.
In this season of life, I’m sure no one needs to be told idleness is a disease. Expecting to Live on others is bad. In fact, God’s purpose for your life doesn’t call for idleness. Bills piling up every second tells you idleness is killing. There must be something for God to bless.
The widow of the prophet in 2Kings 4 had a bottle of oil, the widow of Zarephath in 1Kings 17 had a handful of flour in a jar and little oil in a jug; God had something to work with to bring about increase. Have at least something doing for God to bless and increase. You might want to ask God for what to do, He knows it all.
Doing it with all your might entails doing things well. It’s okay to run many things pending the time you come up with the one that actually suits you, but in all make sure you do it well. Excellence will always open door for more.
Kola Olugbodi of Bckground Check International said opportunities abound in the new normal we have found ourselves but only for those who are ready.
However, there’s always room for improvement everyday.
I hope you know that a poorly executed contract will close the door of more while professionally and excellently done job orders will keep opening doors for more.
Let’s learn to do things with all our might (well).
What is that in your hand?
- A skilled professional?
- Are you a cloth seller? Sell quality and package well.
- Food Vendor? Let your food be tasty and be hygienic in your preparations.
- Hair Dresser? Learn the trend and be good.
- Graphic Designer? What’s the latest design software? Learn it and be ahead.
- Are you into laundry business, Bricklayer, Painter, anything? Do things WELL!
Not minding your skill, the motivating word is for you to do things well and in the right way. You can’t be praying for breakthrough, yet do things wrongly; the Bible is never a pact to poor delivery of goods or services.
I’m reminded of the song by African China “Mr. President, lead us well; if you be governor, governor us well; if you be senator, senate am well; if you be police, police well well make you no dey take bribe”.
This is a call and a reminder to us all, this decade won’t give room for mediocrity.
If you need to scale up in your endeavor, it’s high time.
Do have a fruitful week.
